What did you say? [screech, squealing tires]
Category: Blog

We just looked at the numbers for Community Tire’s Facebook Fan Page activity. If you think older people aren’t using the Internet, it’s time to rethink that position. Last month, 75% of the most frequent contributors were women, and of those women, the majority are in the 44 to 54 age range. The majority of fans that are men are in the 44 to 55 range.

Older Internet users now comprise the fastest growing demographic group in the US Internet market. Mature users access the Internet more often, stay online for longer and visit more websites than younger users. (Media Metrix). Over the next five years, the number of US baby boomers who use the Internet at least once a month will grow by more than 5 million, rising from 58.2 million in 2006 to 63.7 million in 2011. (eMarketer) Over-60s will also be a large and growing segment of the US Internet culture, growing from 17.7 million Internet users in 2006 to 25.3 million by 2011. (eMarketer).

Your customers and your friends are online. How effectively you communicate with them depends largely upon how well you engage them in conversations, not simply follow you. To do so, you have to ask questions, encourage people to share and most of all inform and entertain in the most authentic ways.

Seems, ladies know a thing or two or want to know about auto repair more than guys around here…interesting.
